Bye Bye HIPs


HIPs are no more. In May 2010 the new coilition government suspended Home Information Packs (HIPs), which means property sellers no longer need to supply a HIP before putting their homes on the open market. The announcement comes ahead of parliamentary action to abolish the legislation completely.

Home Information Pack (HIP) legislation may have been scrapped in 2010, but anyone that puts their house up for sale will still need an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) from the first day of advertising it on the market.
